Scope and Content

This sub-series comprises 1916 correspondence between Charles Prestwich Scott (1846-1932), editor and proprietor of the Manchester Guardian, and contemporary politicians, writers and journalists including the politicians David Lloyd George and Winston Churchill, the journalists Francis Wrigley Hirst and James Bone, and the judge Robert Reid, Earl Loreburn. Topics covered include the wartime events in Greece and France, current British naval strategies, and British political relations with America.
