Administrative / Biographical History

The Discovery Investigations were a series of oceanographical voyages which included hydrographic surveys and laboratory work. During the 1935-1936 voyage of RSS Discovery II news arrived that Lincoln Elsworth and Herbert Hollick-Kenyon (Ellsworth Expedition, 1935-1936) required relief from the Ross Sea where their aircraft had been damaged.
