Administrative / Biographical History

Maytree Special Junior School opened in 1963. It was opened by Mayor Rose Cross and the first Head Teacher was Mr T.H. Morgan. When it opened it had a staff of four and 50 pupils on its roll and was intended to cater for children between the ages of 7 and 11. Older children went to the neighbouring Pen-y-Bryn Special School which was established in 1953 (see E/PB Spec).
