Church closure correspondence

Scope and Content

Folder of correspondence and associated documents relating to the closure of the Church and distribution of financial assets. Documents in the latter half of the folder are grouped according to organisation and are accompanied by original marker pages used by Church administration to separate the documents within a folder. Folder includes: 

  • Correspondence and associated documents between the Church and various charities to which it provided financial support, including: Mission Africa, The Christian Institute, The Revival Movement, the National Council For Christian Standards In Society, Gideons International, Missionary Aviation Fellowship, Naval and Military Bible Society, Good News Ministry, Our Daily Bread Ministries, The Seaman's Christian Friend Society, Child Evangelism Fellowship Ireland, FEBA Radio, Child Evangelism Fellowship Romania, Wycliffe Bible Translators, Kids 4 School, The Trinitarian Bible Society, and Belfast Bible College.
  • Lists of charitable organisations supported by Rea Memorial.
  • Memos and discussion documents circulated within Church administration, including an action plan synopsis for winding up the financial affairs of the Church.
  • Correspondence and related documents between the Church, Cleaver Fulton Rankin Solicitors, and the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland relating to the resolution of the Rea Memorial Church of God Trust and the transfer of its property to recipient charities.
  • Draft copies of the Resolution of the Trust.
  • Bank statements for Rea Memorial, including receipts and payments account summary, lists of gifts made, receipts and invoices, and Inland Revenue correspondence.
  • Correspondence between the Church and Calvary Baptist Church in Bocaue, the Philippines.
  • Correspondence and invoices relating to the printing of 'A Study of the Word Church' booklets by Northside Graphics.
 Also includes correspondence between the Church and the University of Manchester regarding donation of Church records to the Christian Brethren Archives. Includes box lists and printouts of Christian Brethren Archive webpages.
