Aenea Kate Fraser was bron in Achterneed, Ross and Cromarty, in 1891  . Her father Donald Fraser was a stationmaster. Aenea attended the University of Glasgow from 1910-1913  , taking classes in Mathematics and French in her first year, Natural Philosophy in her second, and English (Ordinary) in her third and final year. She did not graduate.
