Newspaper cuttings scrapbook entitled Newspaper clippings 1927-29, local and region. Compiled by James OBrien, Port Talbot. The cuttings relate mostly to the Neath, Port Talbot and Margam areas, but also occasionally to Gower, Swansea and district and Wales more generally. They include obituaries of local personalities, notes on local placenames (including Enwau Plwyf Margam), Neath and District Antiquities by Glen A. Taylor, D. H. Jones et al., members of the Neath Antiquarian Society, Catholicism in penal times: how Glamorgan was robbed of the faith by the Rev. J. M. Cronin, and a column on the history of the area by the Aberavon and Margam District Historical Society, of which James OBrien was a member. Also includes bundle of loose papers, cuttings, photographs of Margam Abbey west front and the chapter house, c. 1930s, and typescript article by J. OBrien, JP, entitled Catholicism in Neath.
