Amman Valley Railway Society Records

Scope and Content

D/D AVRS 1 The case for a new light guided transit system for Swansea

Administrative / Biographical History

The Amman Valley Railway Society was formed in the early 1990s. It has the dual aims of preserving the region's railway history and heritage, and of exploring and promoting the idea of introducing a tram system to Swansea and the surrounding area, based in part on pre-existing unusued track. The Society is very active, and funds itself in a variety of ways, including a number of charity shops in the area.
