Scope and Content

Manuscript transcript of a document outlining the history and administration of the Bombay Marine and Indian Navy. The original was a pamphlet written circa 1855-1857, probably from the Bombay Quarterly Review. At the front of the volume is a letter from James [? Brebuel], 1 March 1871, which suggests that he provided either the original document or the copy, which was probably written in 1871 or 1872. The copy belonged to John Charles Mason.
