Administrative / Biographical History

The British International Polar Year Expedition, 1932-1933 (leader James Stagg) carried out meteorological, terrestrial magnetism and aurora research at Fort Rea in Canada. This expedition was one of a series, which took place in the diamond jubilee year (the first International Polar Year expeditions having taken place in the 1882-1883 season).
