The majority of these designs have been painted onto design paper and then backed with linen, and are in a poor and fragile condition. A number carry dates which are all late 19th century and most have design numbers written on the reverse. Due to their very fragile condition items from STOD/DES/81 need to be handled with extreme care and should only be viewed after consulting with the Preservation Manager.
