Administrative / Biographical History

The Carmarthen Motor Club was formed in the winter of 1910/11 by John Jenkins, County Stores, Lammas Street; Will Edwards, Towy Garage; and Jack Williams. The club would initially meet at the Boar’s Head, Lammas Street and held its first event in the spring following the formation of the club - a reliability trial for motorbikes and cars. The course took competitors on a route to Fishguard and back and was the first of many timed trials held by the Carmarthen Motor club. The club is still in operation today, and organises a number of motoring events during the year.
