Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
The Pictorial Collection began at Swansea City Archives under the auspices of Rowley Davies, who devised a classification system to organise the photographs and slides that were received. The collection was added to throughout the 1980s and 1990s, being maintained principally by John Maudsley, and was widened to include slides, negatives, films, videos and secondary material. The collections became part of the holdings of the West Glamorgan Archive Service in 1996, and is maintained and added to regularly.
