Administrative / Biographical History
Hyders Ltd (1925 - 1994) developed from a building company at Crouch, Kent. The company produced a range of hand-forged wrought ironwork including balustrades, electrical fittings, garden furniture, gates, railings, wellheads and various items for the home. These were sold direct to customers and through retail outlets including Harrods. The ironworks and showroom were on the same site at Plaxtol, Kent. The company exhibited at a number of national and international exhibitions and won a Diplm̥e Commm̌oratif at the Paris Exposition Universelle in 1937. The company ceased trading in November 1994.
