This volume comprises a complete record of the meetings of the governing committee of the College. Several other related documents have been included in this volume, including: a newspaper cutting from the Manchester Guardian 17 July 1877, reporting the meeting which set up the College; timetables; lists of students; exam results; reports of teachers; copies of the report of the sub-committee on the future of the College; a copy of the related (draft) memorial submitted to Owens College in December 1880; and notes of meetings of Owens College Council 6 April and 13 June 1883 concerning the incorporation of the College.
