Administrative / Biographical History

The Dylan Thomas Society of Wales was formed in 1977 by a group of admirers of Thomas' work to improve understanding of his writings by talks, lectures, discussions, readings and performances, and also to extend members' awareness of other twentieth-century writers, especially in Anglo-Welsh literature. In 1989 its name was changed to the Dylan Thomas Society of Great Britain. The performing section of the Society is known as the Dylan Thomas Travelling Players.
