Records of the RCOG Guidelines and Audit Committee

Papers of the RCOG Guidelines and Audit Committee, including meeting papers of the committee and of the related Patient Information Sub-group and Consent Sub-group, together with copies of Consent Advice, Clinical Governance Advice, Statements and joint statements with the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare and the Royal College of Midwives published by the RCOG.

The RCOG Guidelines and Audit Committee was formed following a decision to combine the responsibilities of the Audit Committee (disbanded in April 1999) with the administration and production of RCOG guidelines, formerly a responsibility of the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC).

The first meeting of the new committee, known initially as the Guideline and Audit Sub Committee (GASC), and later the Guidelines and Audit Committee (GAC) took place in April 1999. Reporting to the Clinical Effectiveness and Standards Board, and later the Standards Board, it oversaw the development of guidelines and co-ordinated audit and guideline activity in obstetrics and gynaecology, preparing funding applications to support this work.
