The title Lord Lieutenant is given to the British monarch's personal representatives in the United Kingdom, usually in a county or similar circumscription, with varying tasks throughout history. The post of Lord Lieutenant of Glamorgan was abolished on 31 March 1974 due to local government reorganisation where the role of Lord Lieutenant of West Glamorgan was established.
