Administrative / Biographical History
Vivian Brodsky was a Socialist born in Kew, Australia in February 1892. During his childhood his family moved to the United States settling in New York and San Francisco. During the First World War he joined the Australian army and then settled in England after the war. He started his career in publishing in 1919 and worked at newspapers including The Daily Herald and The News of the World becoming the industrial correspondence for the Daily Express and News of the World.
It was during his career at The Daily Herald he became involved with the Labour and Industrial Correspondence group - becoming the group's secretary between 1937-1941. He also set up his own publicity and public relations business in 1935 which had the rights for the magazine Boxing New' from 1941 up to his death.
Later in his life, he expanded by creating his own printing works under the title 'Patina Press Ltd'. Vivian Brodzky died on the 16th January 1968.
