Administrative / Biographical History

In 1964 Teachers took over Vasart Glass Ltd to produce bottle shaped ashtrays as promotional objects. The company was renamed Strathearn Glass Ltd and larger premises were built in Crieff to allow a capacity of up to 50,000 ashtrays per annum alongside the more traditional decorative work of the company. This continued until the takeover by Allied saw the company divest its glassmaking interests. In 1980 Strathearn Glass Ltd was taken over by Stuart and Sons of Stourbridge, and renamed Stuart Strathearn. Company number SC031627, Strathearn Glass Ltd, was formally dissolved on 04 July 1995.
