Administrative / Biographical History

The Trustees' minutes includes the awarding of bursaries supporting the education of the children of Finlay staff members. The Finlay Foundation papers includes proposed charity investments in Pakistan. Finlays frequently invested in local or international charitable initiatives and operations. The company is interested with aiding the continuing stable development of third world economies. This is reflected in consistently ensuring tea estate workers can access medical and educational facilities. These records reflect some of the wide ranging charitable investments the company became involved in through the Finlay Foundation and the James Finlay Charitable Trust.
