Administrative / Biographical History

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and the Health and Safety Commission (HSC) have been jointly responsible for the regulation of risks to health and safety arising from work activity in Great Britain since 1974. This role includes monitoring disused collieries that could prove hazardous.
