Administrative / Biographical History

The Society of Friends, also known as Quakers, is a Christian Protestant group founded by George Fox (1624-1691). The Friends have no ministerial order. Each congregation is a Particular (or Preparative) Meeting. These are grouped into Monthly Meetings which in turn combine to form Quarterly Meetings and, at national level, a Yearly Meeting. The records relate to transcripts of digest copies of registers of the General Meeting of Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Wales.
