The newsletter was issued annually by the University of Manchester department of history from 1925. The newsletter appears to have been conceived by Powicke and he edited the early editions before he left Manchester in 1928. The newsletter briefly described work in the department, including staff appointments and retirements, and provided information about alumni. Copies are present for 1925, 1927-1938; 1927 copy is a galley proof. Some of the newsletters are addressed to Powicke.
