Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
Traethmelin School was in Sandfields, Aberavon, Glamorgan. It was established as Traethmelyn Primary School in 1961 in a temporary building, which was replaced by separate infants' and junior schools in 1963. The two were united once more as Traethmelyn Primary School in 1982. Following storm damage in 1992 the school was moved from its original site on Strauss Road, Port Talbot to newly adapted premises on Southdown View. The school was closed in 2015.
