Administrative / Biographical History
Caradoc Jones worked as a colliery checkweigher. He was elected as one of the first councillors for the County Borough of Merthyr Tydfil in 1905. He subsequently moved to the Pontarddulais area, where he was elected to Glamorgan County Council, and subsequently served on the Education, Finance and Watch Committees, and as Chairman of the Roads and Bridges Committee. He was an alderman for 46 years. He was also a member of the University Court.
