Original holograph manuscript of Dibdin's Bibliotheca Spenceriana, with corrections and notes by the author on where illustrations should be. The text itself contains descriptions of the books and manuscripts of the Library of the Earls Spencer, including transcribed extracts. Also included in the work are various printed insertions of text and illustrations from contemporary publications. Two indexes of books are provided at the end of Volume 4: one is arranged by the name of the printer; the other, where the name of the printer is unknown, is arranged by author.
