Drawings

A collection of original drawings and sketches at various stages of development, along with a few paintings, photographs and photocopies of originals, drawn by the sisters. The majority are of various period military costumes, and appear, from their labelling by the Reids, to have been executed by Anne alone, although it is impossible to be certain. Many of the drawings have annotations by the artist relating to details of colour, insignia, military regalia etc, and some notes on the research undertaken by the artist. The majority of the drawings are black and white, executed in pencil or pen.
