Correspondence between Sir John Bowring and his son Frederick Hermann Bowring at Cambridge (where he was a Fellow of Trinity College) as follows:

(a) Letters from Sir John Bowring to his son Frederick (numbers 1-230, January 1837-June 1858); numbers 157-230 were written from the Far East;
(b) Letters to Sir John Bowring from his son Frederick (numbers 231-295, December 1837-January 1864).
