Scope and Content

The archive consists of the following:

Canon John Armstrong of York. 14 boxes, one concerning the Royal Society of St George and one containing records of the Chapter Committee.
Bishop Morris Maddocks of Selby. 7 boxes, one containing a heavily annotated typescript of Maddocks' book The Vision of Dorothy Kerin (1991). (For further records of Bishop Maddocks, see GB 0193 SUFF 2.)
Archdeacon Leslie Stanbridge of York. 3 boxes.
Reverend Henry Stapleton of Skelton. 1 box.

Administrative / Biographical History

This project has been undertaken by the Borthwick Institute, with the aim of documenting the administrative work of individual members of clergy by preserving the records received and generated in the course of their daily work.
