Scope and Content

The collection contains samples of glove patterns (21 envelopes),1 pattern for bedroom slippers, small material samples (7 envelopes) and three copies of Needlecraft Practical Journal (undated)

Administrative / Biographical History

This collection consists of paper glove patterns from the 1940s and small samples of leather and suede. The patterns are in envelopes addressed to the glove-makers. Some of the patterns seem to have come from Mrs F. A. Staite of Carlidnack, Mawnan Smith, Falmouth, formerly of Selly Oak, Birmingham, and some, with the sample material, from G. W. Russell & Son Ltd, Hitchin, a British leather manufacturing company
