Administrative / Biographical History
The preface for the book published in 1980 by Oxford University Press records the fact that work was started by Kenneth MacMahon and that Edward Gillett was asked to complete the book upon MacMahon's death in 1972.
The book was reprinted in paperback by Hull University Press in 1985.
