Scope and Content

Souvenir to mark the installation of a statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Cardiff Bay

Administrative / Biographical History

The Hindu Council of Wales was established in November 2012 by the six major Hindu faith based groups which constitute the majority of Hindus living in Wales. The aim of the formation of the group was to provide one voice that could bring about positive changes to the Hindu community in particular and also to Wales as a whole. The Council arranges talks and presentations providing a platform for the Hindu community to give feedback to organisations on the different issues facing Hindus in Wales. The group is also involved in interfaith events.
