Mr Owen W. Owen was the first Divisional Controller for the Employment and Insurance Section of the Ministry of Labour for Wales 1909-1928. He retired aged 65 in 1928 and the records in this archive relate to this event. Two ceremonies were held to mark his retirement, one at City Hall, Cardiff on the 10th March 1928 and one on the 17th March 1928 in Colwyn Bay involving staff of the North Wales area.
