Scope and Content

(i) pp. 1-8

These are not of outstanding interest, being mainly connected with subsiduary connections of the Cefn Llanfair and Madryn families, such as John Parry, the Attorney General of north Wales, brother to the third Love Parry (p. 1); Jane Wynn, widow of William Wynn of Llanfair-is-gaer, sister of the second Love Parry (p. 2); and various member of the Caldecots, the Lincolnshire family which came to Lleyn through the marriage of Elizabeth Caldecot who figues on p. 4 seems to have been so prominent in the 1826 election as to be burnt in effigy by the people of Pwllheli.

The letter written by Thomas Madryn (p. 5) ought to be first in point to time; it was probably written during the Anglesey troubles of 1645-1648. The bill for haberdashery supplied in 1835 for the funeral of T.P. Jones Parry by William Williams of Pwllheli has been incorrectly copied as 1823 (p. 8)
