Carbon copy of typescript copy letter from Adam Smith to William 2nd Duke of Montrose. Note at bottom of letter reads, This MS was found by me while sorting out some documents in the Bell Tower Passage in University buildings. It is endorsed "Adam Smiths MS" and would appear to be a draft letter address to William 2nd Duke of Montrose, sometime between 1755-1757 (the dates of the Rectorship of the Earl of Glasgow)
