Administrative / Biographical History

Shelagh Mary Dickson was born on 27 August 1917 in Glasgow. Her father, William, was a hidebroker. She began her studies at the University of Glasgow in the 1935. In her first year, 1935-1936, she studied English and Latin, and in the next academic session she took Latin Higher, Greek and Moral Philosophy. In her third year she took Greek (Ordinary) and Latin (Higher) whilst in her final year, 1938-1939, she studied Greek (Higher) and Geology (Ordinary). She graduated MA in 1939. She lived in Glasgow for the rest of her life and died around 1990.
