In 1878 Agecroft Hall passed to Lieutenant Robert Hull, eldest son of RP Hull Brown of Ambleside, and great nephew of the deceased Catherine Dauntesey Foxton. Hull took the name Dauntesey, in accordance with a clause in Catherine's will.
