Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
The council was established in 1979, and became a registered charity in 1980. Its objective was to provide pre-retirement education to assist in the change from working life to retirement. The council also aimed to provide recreational and leisure facilities for anyone retired or over the age of 50, especially for those who due to financial or social constraints would not otherwise be able to attain them. The council was dissolved on the 3rd of February 2012.
