Administrative / Biographical History
An exploratory meeting to discuss the formation of a historical society in Skewen was held on 10 February 1997, leading to the inaugural meeting on 10 March 1997. The society aims to promote the cultural and industrial history of the area, and it publishes a newsletter featuring articles, poems and reminiscences about the area. The society encompasses the areas of Skewen, Neath Abbey, Llandarcy, Jersey Marine and Crymlyn Burrows.
