Administrative / Biographical History

BECTU, is the UK's media and entertainment trade union. Sectors covered include broadcasting, film, independent production, theatre and the arts, live events, leisure and digital media.

It was formed in 1991 and inherited the documentation from its predecessor unions. Among these, was N.A.T.K.E. (National Association of Theatrical and Kine Employees), formed in 1937 and previously known as N.A.T.E. (National Association of Theatrical Employees), formed in 1905.
