The firm of Douglas & Brittain & Co was established in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1923 through the amalgamation of  Robert Douglas & Sons and  Robert Brittain & Co. In 1935 they absorbed the firm of  Henry & Wright. The company manufactured sails, hatch covers and awnings.
