'Caol Reathain' (pages 5-8) was recorded from 'Padraig Buidhe' [whose real name was Peter Anderson, Coultorsay, Islay], at Port Charlotte, Islay in May 1860, which includes further notes on Fenian place-names in Gleneleg and Skye by Carmichael from 1865.
'Sgeul na Luraich' (pages 9-16) was told by Donull MacCuithein [Donald MacQueen], 'Fearann a lethe' [Fernilea], Isle of Skye on 29 August 1861. A note on page 15 indicates that MacQueen heard the story from Donald MacPhee, a miller from Talisker who knew many stories.
