Administrative / Biographical History

The College offered ‘Day Classes/Courses’ and ‘Evening Classes/Courses’. Generally those attending the Day classes were younger, c.16-18 years of age. The College also ran junior day departments for younger students (c.14-16 years) which were effectively secondary schools. Like most of the Technical Institutes of the period, the Evening classes were far more popular than the Day courses and were attended by more mature students – usually those in work.
