Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
AIRBUS Defence and Space owns the collection of aerial photography created by the companies variously known as J A Storey Ltd, JAS Air Survey Ltd, JASAIR Ltd, JASPHOT, Geonex Air Survey Ltd, Geonex Jasphot Ltd, Geonex UK Ltd, Geonex Ltd, Geonex Story Ltd, National Remote Sensing Centre, NRSC Ltd and Infoterra Ltd.
The National Remote Sensing Centre was formed in 1980 as a government centre of excellence for earth observation data. It was privatised in 1991 and renamed NRSC Ltd, during which time it acquired the film holdings of Geonex Ltd. In 2001, NRSC Ltd became Infoterra Ltd, a subsidiary of EADS Astrium. In 2011, Infoterra merged with SPOT-image and is now part of AIRBUS Defence and Space.

Custodial History
Films were held from creation by their parent companies before being acquired by AIRBUS Defence and Space in 2011. In 2015, the films were transferred to the care and management of NCAP.
