Scope and Content

Betty Jones was the daughter of Ivor Jones and Anne Harrison (nee Williams). She lived at Rock View, Victoria Avenue, Craig-y-Don, Llandudno. Ivor was a Private in the Royal Welch Fusiliers and was killed in the Battle of the Somme in July 1916, just 9 weeks after the birth of Betty, who never saw her father. Betty attended John Bright Grammar School, where she was a member of the hockey team, and later St Mary's College in Bangor where she did her teacher training. For many years Betty Jones was a teacher at Dyffryn Road Primary School, Llandudno. She married George Maurice Carr from Bradford and they lived at 30 Hill View Road, Llanrhos.
