Administrative / Biographical History
Born on the 8th February 1944, Roger Lloyd Pack was a versatile character actor with a strong physical presence. He trained at RADA and appeared in small roles on television, on film and in the theatre before becoming a household name in sitcoms Only Fools and Horses as 'Trigger' and The Vicar of Dibley as 'Owen'. Notable film and television roles also included 'Bartemius Crouch Sr.' in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire , 'Inspector Mendel' in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy , 'John Lumic' in Doctor Who: Rise of the Cybermen and 'Tom' in The Old Guys . He was also an accomplished stage actor, with performances at The National Theatre, The Royal Court, with the Royal Shakespeare Company, and latterly as the 'Duke of Buckingham' in Richard III at the Globe. He was awarded the 1984 London Critics Circle Theatre Award (Drama Theatre Award) for Best Supporting Actor for his performances in One for the Road and Wild Honey . He was also well known for roles in plays by Harold Pinter with whom he corresponded. He died on 15th January 2014 of pancreatic cancer.
