Administrative / Biographical History
The correspondence relates to his son Edward Adrian Wilson's participation in the British Antarctic Expedition, 1910-1913 (leader Robert Falcon Scott). Wilson was a member of the pole party (Wilson, Scott, Oates, Bowers and Evans) who reached the South Pole on 17 January 1912. His body was found with those of Scott and Bowers by search parties in November 1912.
