Scope and Content

The collection consists of material drawn together from the various groups with which Kevin was involved, as well as material collected by associates of Kevin. There are meeting minutes and corporate papers, correspondence, reports from the various groups, along with a number of newsletters, magazines and publications, and articles concerning differing aspects of disability and the fighth for disabled peoples rights.

Administrative / Biographical History

Kevin Hyett was born in 1958 and, after growing up in Irlam, Salford, became an actvive campaigner for Disabled People's rights. Kevin was a founder member of the Greater Manchester Coalition of Disabled People (GMCDP), and held the position of director from 1992-2004 and company secretary from August 1993 to January 1994.

Kevin died on Tuesday 16th March 2004.
