Old Vic Theatre papers

The work of the Old Vic after the appointment of the Joint Council. Includes material management of the theatre, programming of the Old Vic season, work of the Old Vic Company, touring and the Young Vic.

Following the appointment of the Joint Council of the National Theatre and the Old Vic the directors of the Old Vic Theatre Company, the Directors of other Old Vic Companies and the directors of the Old Vic Theatre Centre were held accountable to the Old Vic Sub-Committee (later know as the Old Vic Executive Committee). The Old Vic Sub-Committee was responsible for overseeing all matters of policy, administration and finance of the Old Vic, reporting to the Joint Council and to the Old Vic Governors. Kenneth Rae was secretary to the Old Vic Sub-Committee.
