Scope and Content

The series includes correspondence with suppliers and funders, invoices and receipts, licenses and budgets, and brochures and advertisements. There are also some photographs. Companies include Thomas Cook, WH Smiths, Boots the Chemist, and Cadbury-Fry Ltd.

Administrative / Biographical History

The files in this series document the administration of the expeditions to Svalbard from 1949. The files cover topics such as insurance, transport and travel arrangements, survey equipment, food and expedition funding.

Arrangement

This series was in good order, and arranged by Brian chronologically. Therefore this system has been maintained.

As the papers have not been appraised, there may be some closures, especially in relation to correspondence
